An Echocardiogram is an ultrasound of your heart. It is a common test that allows your doctor to see your heart pumping blood and beating. There are several types of echocardiograms, and each have very little prep, side effects or risks associated with testing.
An electrocardiogram, or EKG, uses sensors to monitor the electoral activity of your heart. These sensors are attached to your chest using a light adhesive pad and usually only left on for a few minutes.
With each of these tests, there is very little preparation needed and little to no side effects or risks associated with the testing. Your doctor will review your results with you.
