Message From Albert Gutierrez Jr.
Albert R. Gutierrez, Jr., MD, is originally from Baltimore Maryland and relocated to the Tampa Bay area with his family as a young child. He attended and graduated from Jesuit High School in Tampa and continued his education at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska.
Dr. Gutierrez holds a BS degree in biology from Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences. He received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed internship and residency at Creighton University Affiliated Hospital.
Dr. Gutierrez also completed a fellowship in computed tomography/ultrasound from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Following the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Gutierrez returned to the Tampa Bay area where he began his career as the staff radiologist at HCA Oak Hill Hospital. He went on to work as the staff radiologist at Brooksville Regional Hospital and eventually Radiation Safety Officer at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. From 1993 to 1995 he served as Chief of Staff of Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Dr. Gutierrez is currently the radiologist as well as Medical Director of Summit Imaging.
He and his wife, Debra, have four sons – two are physicians, and two are currently in medical school. He enjoys fishing, traveling, growing orchids, and collecting Indian artifacts.
Dr. Gutierrez is a member of the American College of Radiology.
