Dr. Ekanayake is board certified in Internal Medicine and has been practicing as a primary care physician with Access Healthcare since April of 2007. His schooling is highlighted with many awards, among which is the award for the most outstanding and highest scoring student in biological science at the national examination. Recognition of his commitment to practice quality medicine, The American College of Physicians (ACP) has recognized him as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. The FACP title is a distinction earned from colleagues who recognizes ones accomplishments and achievements to be over and above the normal practice of medicine. In addition to practicing internal medicine, Dr. Ekanayake holds special interests in Geriatric Care, Hypertension, Diabetes, Stroke, Heart Disease, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Gastrointestinal Disease, Genitourinary Disease, Asthma, Emphysema, Neurological Disorders, Lupus, and Depression/Anxiety Disorders. He has also received extensive experience from prior positions in the care of clinic and hospital patients as well as managing emergency room patients. Dr. Ekanayake maintains privileges at Oak Hill Hospital, Bayfront Spring Hill and Bayfront Brooksville hospitals here in Hernando county and is accepting new patients.
