Message From Kristen Phillips
Kristen Phillips, DO, comes to Access Health Care Physicians directly from completing her internal medicine residency at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DCOM in Harrogate, Tennessee. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University in San Diego, California, where Dr. Phillips majored in biology with minors in chemistry and psychology- behavioral and cognitive neuroscience. While attending San Diego State University she achieved membership in Alpha Epsilon Delta, a premedical honor society, as well as Sigma Alpha Lambda, a leadership and honor society.
Over the years Dr. Phillips has developed a reputation for heavy involvement in community activities. While attending San Diego State University she was a member of the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship where she built houses in Mexico and worked at local homeless shelters.
Dr. Phillips’ familiar patient populations include stroke, trauma, cardiac, autoimmune disease, psychiatric medicine, musculoskeletal, geriatrics, and gastroenterology.
Throughout her career she has devoted her time to a wide range of community activities. While in San Diego she served as a veterinarian assistant and a foster home for homeless dogs where she facilitated a good tradition into adopted “furever” homes, and provided necessary rehab, medical care, housebreaking and obedience training.
Throughout college and medical school, she served in a variety of organizations such as the Cumberland Gap Volunteer Fire Department, TOUCH in Tennessee and Kentucky, the Wilderness Medical Society and served as publicity chair and member of the Flying Samaritans in Ejido Matamoros, Mexico.
Dr. Phillips in her spare time she enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, kayaking, intramural sports, gardening, travelling, drawing, sewing, and baking.
