If you are looking for a “Florida-grown” doctor in the Hudson area, we are proud to introduce you to Michael Lamparelli, DO. Born in Dunedin and raised in New Port Richey, Dr. Lamparelli received his undergraduate degree in biomedical science from the University of South Florida, and his medical degree in Tennessee at Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Some of his biggest medical passions are mental health, preventative medicine, and cognitive behavior therapy. He is board-certified in Family Medicine, a member of the American Osteopathic Association, and a member of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.
Known as a doctor who goes above and beyond for patients, he tries to do whatever necessary to make sure his patients understand their health, even drawing diagrams to help clarify any misperceptions. Relationships are very important to Dr. Lamparelli as he believes a good rapport is critical with a doctor/patient relationship. “This is truly a partnership. Sometimes there can be a general distrust for doctors. This weakens our bonds. I want all my patients to be safe and healthy and know that doctors are not just here for sick care, we are here for maintenance care too.” Preventative care can help avert many issues down the road. “Patients have to like their doctor’s office and they need to know you have their best interest at heart.” It’s clear Dr. Lamparelli loves his staff as he talks about how personable they are. “There is no better feeling than hearing my patients and my staff laughing together.”
Dr. Lamparelli did not grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth and did not have many luxuries that other children in school had. There were no doctors in his family. He grew up in Holiday, Florida in a working-class family to very devoted and hard-working parents. He had two close neighborhood friends and a fascination with science that helped keep him too busy for trouble. He and his two friends from the neighborhood are still close. They have all become successful and chose careers centered on public service. Dr. Lamparelli believes in paying blessings forward, mindfulness and the importance of self-evolvement. In his spare time, he enjoys physical activities such as Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, yoga, and reading.
