Dr. Hammarquist received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and biophysics from the University of Alabama where she appeared on the dean’s list and was a chapter president of the University of Alabama Sigma Alpha Lambda. She received her medical degree from UNIBE School of Medicine (Universidad Iberoamericana) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, cum laude with distinction.
She completed an internship at HIMA San Pablo, Caguas, Puerto Rico, where she completed a general medicine internship with rotations in family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, pediatric ER, ER, surgery, as well as eight weeks elective in rural with COSSMA in San Lorenzo where she conducted research. She is a member of Colegio de Medicos y Cirujanos de Puerto Rico. Dr. Hammarquist is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Hammarquist enjoys gardening, fitness, music, theatre, and baking.
